Voi re-launches online e-scooter and e-bike safety training for all
Micromobility operator, Voi, has launched a new, free online traffic school - RideSafe Academy - to help people use e-scooters and e-bikes safely.
The all-new RideSafe Academy provides a series of online micro courses that teach essential knowledge and helpful tips on local e-scooter and e-bike traffic rules and rider safety – all in a fun and engaging way.
Riders are rewarded with a free ride as an incentive to take the free online training.
Building upon the success of Voi’s previous traffic school RideLikeVoila, the world’s first e-scooter traffic school that Voi launched in 2019, RideSafe Academy offers a new, improved comprehensive safety education platform that equips riders with essential knowledge and practical tips to ride e-scooters and e-bikes safely and confidently.
It is designed to be an accessible and engaging platform for riders of all levels of experience. It offers courses that cover a range of topics related to e-scooter and e-bike safety, local traffic rules, and responsible parking practices.
RideSafe Academy is also freely available to anyone interested in improving their riding skills or simply learning more about local traffic laws, whether or not they are a Voi rider. This means that more people can benefit from the knowledge and resources provided, contributing to a safer traffic environment for all.
James Bolton, Voi general manager UK, said: “By offering a free and accessible platform to learn about e-scooter and e-bike safety and traffic rules, we are empowering our riders to make safer choices and contribute to safer streets for everyone.
“With RideSafe Academy, we aim to set a new standard for the micromobility industry, emphasising the importance of education in creating a more responsible and sustainable urban future.
“I hope it gives even more people the confidence to use an e-scooter or e-bike as a great way to get around without causing congestion or pollution.”
Voi closely monitors its operations and irresponsible or unsafe use is enforced with user bans. Incidents of bad riding practices are well managed and 0.02% of total Voi account holders (UK-wide) have been blocked.
Unsafe riding or inappropriate use of Voi e-scooters can be reported to report.voi.com via the Voi app or website.
