Better Transport Week 2024

As Better Transport Week (17-23 June 2024)  draws to an end we reflect on a few simple actions, organisations, resources and activities that can help support and promote better transport choices for all. 

Yesterday as part of our local town festival (Kettfest) we ran cycle and scoot events including an information table where we shared ideas and resources for all kinds of active and sustainable travel…

🚊 Rail: Leaflets on the different kinds of railcards, rail safety activity books for kids plus branded giveaways for those who came to the event car-free. Thanks Community Rail Network contacts!

🚍 Bus: Bookable and regular route community transport info for CommMiniBus. Check out your own local community transport providers.

🚶 🚲 Walk/cycle: free local maps with quiet routes shown. Thanks North Northamptonshire Council. Get Down to Town Kettering shopper bags for those who walked or cycled. ‘Have a go’ cycling for all ages and abilities. E-cargo bike rides through the festival (as alien as a spaceship here but showing what is possible). Thanks Hanwood Park 

🦼 Wheeling: we handed out free mobility scooter reflectors. Info on our new Wheelies group too.

 🛴 Scooting: Free try outs of Voi UK e-scooters with free 15 minute ride vouchers and free helmets. Thank you Voi Technology 

Thanks to the team at Campaign for Better Transport for organising this great annual awareness event. For them, like us at BrightwayzUK, EVERY week is Better Transport Week!!
